Imagine not having to plug in your smartphone or tablet to a charger. That’s the aim of uBeam. They are in the process of developing a new to wirelessly charge batteries and it’s getting a lot of attention.
uBeam has recently raised $10 million in funding. And the company has raised $12 million in total. The money is for developing a technology that allows smart phones and tablets to be charged without using a mains charger. It will be different to current wireless tech such as “magnetic charging,”. This still requires the phone or other device to be in close proximity to the charger. Instead, uBeam will use ultrasonic sound waves to charge your batteries.
